Making peace with our own true self is not the highest goal in life. It is rather a fundamental requirement. It is up to us, how we explore the great wonders in our body, its life force, and the subtle centers we call CHAKRAS. We can either deny that they exist or learn to understand, work and awaken them in order to live a more fulfilling life on planet Earth.
A chakra literally means a wheel. However, what we are referring to are the junctions points of the nadis or the energy pathways in the body. These pathways always meet in the form of a triangle. Well, everyone knows that a wheel means a circle. Definitely, triangular wheels are more jazzy, aren’t they? Would it look better? Factually they always meet in the form of triangles, but we call them chakras, because when we see in somebody, we see it more as a circle. This is because it is radiating a certain dimension of energy. Evidently, all radiations occur in circular form. You may throw a triangular stone into a lake, still the ripples are circular, isn’t it? Likewise, when we see it, it appears circular. Secondly, it suggests movement from one dimension to another. Wonder what is it to traverse into other dimensions?
Here, we unfold the mystical realm of universe that exists within you.
The mystical hundred and eight
They call it a chakra as it takes them across. There are one hundred and fourteen major chakras in the system. These are the ones that can be worked upon. Out of these, two are outside the physical body, and the rest within. Henceforth, there are one hundred and fourteen systems of meditation. When Adiyogi, the source of yoga, sat down with the Saptrishis (the seven sages), he was expounding as to how the human mechanism functions. He spoke about a hundred and eight ways of attaining one’s ultimate nature.
This hundred and eight is the number that has manifested in this system. It is a significant number even in the making of the solar system. The diameter of the Sun and the distance between the planet and the Sun is hundred and eight times over. Moreover, the diameter of the moon and the distance is hundred and eight times as well. In multitudinous ways, one will see 108 being a proportion in the making of the Solar System. That is the reason why we dwell on Earth or live. Suppose if we were born on Mars, maybe there would be 160 ways or whatsoever.
Breakthrough of Life
The important thing about meditation is the constant acknowledgement that the body has become this kind of manifestation primarily because of the way the wheel of a potter is, and hence because of the Solar System. In words of Adiyogi, if the human body has to evolve further, some drastic changes need to happen in the structure of the Solar System. Only then the structure of the human body will change, because it has reached fullest development physically. However, one can transmit effortlessly if all this opened up. You want something to happen there, then you do not really need to go there. You can be seated here and make it happen.
However, so as to live a full-fledged physical life one only needs twenty-one chakras. If these twenty-one chakras are reasonably operating, nobody will ever think anything is wrong with you. So what are the remaining things about? Well, it is about opening up various levels, in fact dimensions of perception. This is what people call magical or mystical. You welcome higher dimensions of perception that you are no more human, in the understanding of others at least. Evidently, you are much more human but a majority of human beings do not flower.
Internal or External Bloom?
When you put a stone into the soil and leave it for like a few weeks without water, the soil will dry out but there will be dampness beneath the stone. This is where there will be cultivation. A crop will know that where there is dampness, there it will be protected and will not be crushed. The same goes for a human being. A human being will not flower to his full potential unless you create an appropriate atmosphere for him, largely internal.
There is this practice is India, called “Kshetra Sanyasa”, wherein the practitioners fix a radius which is highly energetic. Those who want to soak in the energy take a vow that they will not leave that certain diameter. But for human beings, owing that they are mobile, to maintain an external atmosphere is perplexing yet conducive. However, maintenance of internal ambience is extremely vital. As to how he keeps his interiors that he constructs a protective cocoon of energy around himself. It is like getting into an airplane or a submarine.
Your body initially might not have lasted at such great heights or depths, but now that you are in a pressurized chamber, you manage. You are now a part of your own walking cubicle, you own space of thought, perception, and contentment. When all the chakras are on, one can transmit anything, but the problem is of the receptivity.
Did you really think it through?
Humans are born with the greatest weapon of all time. The weapon to think. The power of rational, conscious mind is mystical and overpowering. Human have the ability to think. But, do they use it wisely? Evidently, humans have thought themselves out of the many natural capabilities that they already had. Aren’t people thinking themselves out of joy? So whatever you give them, they can think themselves out of the well-being. People practice yoga and meditate and find themselves dripping with ecstasy and innate happiness. Although gradually, they think themselves out. Not everybody knows how to use the power of thought in a constructive manner.
Meditation can not be forced, it can only be achieved by understanding. Some people are meditative but they might not know that they are. Their experience of everything is way better than others and they are naturally becoming meditative, without any effort. Moreover, it is befittingly quoted by Albert Einstein that,
“The greatest accomplishments of man have resulted from the transmission of ideas and enthusiasm.”
Transmission of your energy is of extreme importance. For instance, if you transmit on a radio but no one has one, then what is the use? Humans are a complicated species with more complicated brains. In fact it is easier to transmit to rocks than to human beings. This does not mean rocks are superior than us. It is so because certain rocks have the necessary physical integrity. However, they do not possess a brain. They do not think themselves out of things as humans do.
The Meditation Wand
Meditation means the recognition or the discovery of one’s true self. It is to dissolve the invisible walls built by unawareness. Meditation provides a way of learning to how to let go. As we sit, the self we have been trying to construct and improvise into a nice, neat package continues to unravel. The ultimate way to do this is by activating your chakras. This can be done meditating and focusing on the seven emotions concerned with seven horizontally aligned chakras as shown in the figure alongside.
When you activate your 63 chakras, you are beginning your journey of an early sage. If you cross 84, you have overshadowed the limits which people consider as super humane. The researches done on meditation prove that the circuits regulating the attentiveness and emotional aspects are transformed by meditation. It can lower depression, anxiety, and stress. Also, it boosts confidence, immune system, and raises levels of empathy.
Moreover, meditation improvises areas of brain analogous to self-awareness, compassion and introspection. It gradually lowers the feelings of loneliness which in turn reduces the risk of morbidity and mortality.
To meditate is to be in tune with our inner universe. Keep in mind that the goal of meditation is not to control your thoughts, rather it is to stop letting them control you.
Just how rain breaks into a house with a shoddy roof, desire breaks into the mind that has not practiced meditation. Meditation is like giving a hug to ourselves, getting in touch with the awesome reality that dwells within us. While mediating, we feel a deep sense of intimacy and inexplicable amount of love. Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. With every breath, the old moment is lost; a new moment arrives. We exhale and we let go of the old moment. In doing so, we let go of the person we used to be. We inhale and we welcome the person we are becoming. This is meditation. This is renewal and what we call living a life.
