History
The celebration of New Year can be found in the earliest of civilisation, Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq). Therefore, for them, new year came after the vernal equinox. Vernal equinox falls in late March, with the equal amount of day and night. Whereas, the Roman calendar marked March 1 as their new year. But later in the year 46 BC, Julius Caesar aligned the Roman calendar with the Sun and added ninety days. Therefore, he marked January 01 as the New Year.

Different countries have different traditions and culture that they follow to celebrate New Year. Although the most common of all is partying and watching fireworks. Many countries spend months to prepare for the new year fireworks and the results are breathtaking.
