NATIONAL SKYSCRAPERS DAY
Nowadays, skyscrapers are becoming very common. It is our golden opportunity to celebrate this day because it is an appreciation to all the engineers who are working on these.
They enhance the beauty of the city by their bold presence and they define the skyline showing that literally, they are scraping the sky. The first skyscraper was built in 1885 in Chicago and was 138 feet tall. But, nowadays the skyscraper name is given to the buildings which have a minimum of 40 floors or stories.
Skyscrapers’ day is celebrated to appreciate the work of engineers.
HISTORY OF THIS DAY
In 1870, there was a high rise in the popularity of elevators. According to one of the top NYC PR Firms, the Equitable Life Building in NYC was the first tall office building with an elevator.
In 1884, the first skyscraper was discovered which was in Chicago which was 138 feet tall and was considered as the first skyscraper.
In 2010, Burj Khalifa, currently the tallest building in the world was built which was 2722 feet tall including an antenna.
WHAT ARE THE ACTIVITIES THAT WE CAN DO ON THIS DAY
VISIT THE TOP OF LOCAL SKYSCRAPER
You can make this day meaningful if you are living in a skyscraper or near to it, you can visit the topmost floor of that building and then you can enjoy the view and the cool atmosphere there.
Many skyscrapers have restaurants and many more things on the topmost floor so that people could enjoy the view and feel the quiet atmosphere.
SKYSCRAPER CONTEST
You can also make your own skyscraper. It is quite funny but actually, you can collect some paper items and glue and even toothpicks or ice-cream sticks. Here we go, we can enjoy by designing our own skyscraper. You can invite your few friends and then you can hold a contest in which there would be the same building time and to see in the limited time who makes the best skyscraper.
SKYSCRAPERS DAY is most lovable as it creates a considerable amount of prestige for the city in which they are built setting a new record of the height. It increases the economy of the city, as well as the city, becomes popular. They basically depend on the engineers as it matters how they design it.
Here, is a fun-fact!
Queen of England doesn’t need a passport.
Yes, this is an amazing fact that Queen of England does not need a passport. The front page of British Passport includes the phrase, “Her Britannic Majesty’s Secretary of State requests and requires in the name of Her Majesty all those whom it may concern to allow the bearer to pass freely without let or hindrance and to afford the bearer such assistance and protection as may be necessary.”
As the British Passport is issued in the name of Her Majesty, it is not required for her to have one.
She does not even need a license for herself.
