Rosa de Lima of Peru becomes the first American saint to be canonized.

Rose de Lima was born on April 30, in 1586, at Isabel Flores De Olivia. She 2was the first American saint to be canonized which means that she was the first American saint that was officially declared as a saint after death. She gave man contributions especially to the poor. She left the world on August 24, 1617, at Lima Viceroyalty of Peru

1781

The French fleet arrives in the Chesapeake Bay to aid the American Revolution.

Chesapeake battle was a crucial naval battle in the American Revolutionary War that took place near the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay on 5 September 1781 which resulted in the victory of French.  The French were able to achieve control of the sea lanes against the British and were easily able to get the victory.

1963

Hot Line communications link installed between Moscow and Washington, DC.

It was designed so that there can be easy communication between the president and Soviet premier. On August 30, white hose declared that hotline can help reduce the risk of the war. This new step was so helpful because now they could communicate 24 hours a day.
