Top 10 Independence Day Movies and Shows to Watch this Weekend

The month of August is no longer far away. With that, the Fourth of July is also coming. It is the indication of the day when our ancestors gave us the gift of independence. Everyone is waiting for this precious day. But sadly, this pandemic has ruined all our plans. Do not worry because safety and health are also important. As we all know, Independence Day is full of picnics, family-time, parades, fireworks, movies, and television shows.

These movies and shows will boost up your thought process. These are just some movies and shows that have made a real mark in our hearts. So, gather up your family and have a great time this 4th of July!

Movies:

1. Top Gun (1986):

The American air force has always been exciting than anything else. Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer are looking stunning after wearing suits from the American air force. These two are trouncing the skies in US fighter jets. This movie reflects strength and spirit. We can also learn a lesson of never give up from this movie. After failing in the fight, the two heroes never give up and show the courage to push boundaries.

2. Independence Day (1996):

You cannot say no, to this movie because of its sensation, adventure, and explosions. In America, the attack of aliens has brought Hollywood in danger for some time. This splendid movie is the result of that hard time. Will Smith, Bill Pullman, and Jeff Goldblum have done a great job in this movie. One of the main high-spot of this movie is Pullman’s speech to unite the troops. The endangerment of bleeding red and blue will give you goosebumps. Most importantly, the fight by launching some nukes and kicking some alien ass in unforgettable.

3. Saving Private Ryan (1998):

Saving Private Ryan is a 1998 action movie directed by Steven Spielberg and written by Robert Rodat. This film is famous for its graphic portrayal of war. Especially, World War II has played a chief role in America’s history. Tom Hanks has played the role of fighter in this movie. In this film, he decided to find Private James Ryan. His three brothers have killed in the war. This film shows the bravery, strength, and support of the soldiers that are fighting for freedom.

4. The Patriot (2000):

This movie connects us with the Revolutionary War- The Patriot. No, you really cannot miss this movie. Mel Gibson stars as a war hero who fights an army against the British. He was frustrated with the crime and society of British redcoats. It forced him to play the role of grudging hero. This movie is not about history but will let you in great depth. This movie proves the point to do America do the thing that they want. The one word to explain, The Patriot is valor.

5. Miracle (2004):

The talent of sports is not for the grant. Also, sports are a part of every culture. Like patriotism, the energy and loyalty make the game full of excitement. This movie magnifies the US National Hockey team bested by the invincible Russian team under the leadership of Herb Brooks. Kurt Russell played the role of Herb Brooks in the movie.

1. The West Wing (Season-1):

It is one of the famous shows. Aaron Sorkin is the director of this series. It is broadcasted on NBC from September 1999 to May 2006. It is a political series. This show creates an awareness of political discourse. This meeting decided the good they all can do with the time in office, passing bills, and confronting scandals.

2. Turn: Washington’s Spies (Season-1):

It is a historical drama that reflects the story of Culper Ring. It is a spy organization that worked for Continental Army commanders. The story is built from Alexander Rose’s book Washington’s Spies. This serial is shown on the AMC network for four seasons.

3. Black Patriots: Heroes of The Revolution:

This television show is created as a tribute to the Black heroes who helped in American Revolution. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and other team members worked hard to plunge into deep history. This serial also took the audience’s attention and broke the records. This show reflects the struggle of patriots who give their life to winning the war. It also shows the fight that took place during the war.

4. Roots:

Child labor and illiteracy are the sources that made this story. This serial shows the story of a young man that is a slave. The young man was treated as a slave from West Africa through his life in captivity in the American colonies.

5. Drunk History (Season-1):

This show is full of laughter and also seriousness. It is a series of mixed feelings. In this show, actors, comedians, and other celebrities drink too much to explain world history. The story reflects the sacrifices from the Watergate scandal to the fight for the Alamo.
