Drink Wine Day:
So, imagine yourself coming back from a tiring day at work. Then, you flop on your couch and wonder what is for dinner. But then all you can think of is that one good bottle of red wine you bought from Trader Joe’s. Well, this is your day. Open that bottle and relax. A glass of wine is one antidote for stressful times. Finally, they say red wines are good for the heart. So, what are you waiting for? On February 18, pour yourself a glass of wine and keep reading.
History:
The wine history dates 8000 years back. That was a long time ago. Moreover, winemakers had the hobby of creating wine first in Georgia. That is where the story began. Wine has played a major role in the lives of kings, queens, and people of today. This alcoholic beverage is accompanied at every social event and general meal. The days of the year website mention how 20 million acres of earth land is dedicated to grape farming. These farms then convert into wine. Furthermore, saying cheers or ‘tchin tchin’ if you are French has been in culture for time immemorial. And hence, the past of wine is as rich as its flavor.
How to celebrate:
You can do the most obvious thing. Go to the winery. Taste different types of wine and enjoy. Maybe try a merlot. Or a cabernet. If you want to be more adventurous, make some wine of your own. However, make sure you are of legal age. Furthermore, you can also call all your friends and host a wine party. Ask your friends to bring in different wines and have fun!
Pluto Day:
If you are an early 2000s kid, you would have grown in an education system that teaches us nine planets of the system. Well, our long-lost friend is Pluto. And today it is about our dwarf planet. February 18 celebrates Pluto Day as a dedication. A tribute to our friend who impacted our study of the solar system. Moreover, we recognize the importance of this planet.
History:
In the 1840s, one Urbain Le Verrier discovered a small planet beyond Neptune. He was determined there existed a solar body. But this was Neptune. Although, once the Urbain realized that there was Neptune, he wondered if something else was obstructing Uranus’ path as well. And that is how Percival Lowell discovered Pluto. First, the planet was called Planet X. Now it is called a dwarf planet. Finally, in 1930, this planet was made official.
How to celebrate:
You can do a lot of things on this day. Start by learning everything about this planet. Its history. It trajectory right now. Sit down with your family. Talk to them. Maybe you realize the difference between the evolving education systems. Moreover, you can visit nearby libraries. Look for books that will give you more information about this little planet.
