Setbacks and difficulties cannot be avoided. But you can always use these experiences as opportunities to accelerate your growth. It is important to realize that whatever happens to you will ultimately help you to become a stronger and wiser person. Even more so, it is important to understand that whenever you are confronted with the most difficult situations, essential growth takes place.
Many people have started shining in the brightest light during times of great despair. In fact, without the challenging hardship, they wouldn’t have turned out to be the person they are today. They might be seared with scars, but their characters and their willpower have become unshakable.
“Out of suffering have emerged
The strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with the scars.”
Kahlil Gibran
We have another reason to celebrate today. A reason, a purpose to make our day count. Today we commemorate the ‘Farmworkers Appreciation Day‘.
Our survival depends on the farmers, their hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. Like every year we can see them working continuously in the fields under the hot summer sun. We celebrate farmworker appreciation day to spread awareness for these people on a larger scale and also remind ourselves that we should be thankful to them for all they have done for us.
The farmworker appreciation day was generated to be a sign of action and appreciation to raise consciousness and awareness in society for farmworkers. So that people devote their attention to the issues they face every year. Farmworkers help to keep the world fed and work. It is considered to be one of the most hazardous jobs in the world, even though they are not protected by the same laws that protect other kinds of workers. As we can say behind this situation the main reason is the seasonal status of their job. And, we can say their propensity to be immigrant workers. Who return to their home country after the harvest is complete.
There are many hazards that they face in their work like in their work the usage of pesticides and chemicals are involved that can be poisonous and dangerous and can cause various harmful diseases to them. And the risks of under the hot summer sun for hours and without any shade. And in their course of the job, they have to dig in the fertilized soil, use pesticides, and use some kind of plants which were already injected or doused with chemicals. In such risky conditions, it is not surprising that many farmers die and fall ill each year due to these dangerous conditions.
Commemorating Farmworker appreciation day is very straightforward and easy. And it is a fabulous chance to spread and share your own abundance with those people whose labor brings food to your table. You can give them some refreshments and some essential supplies for them to enjoy during their break time. And don’t ever forget to bring transportable water supplies. They may have water available there in the fields but not all the time. And always try to save them from the stress of working. They will appreciate it and you will feel good after helping them.
