The clock never stops, the hands keep rushing at their pace, and we need to keep up with them. Not every day brings in excitement and showers of joy, some days we stumble upon disappointments. But, to stay gloomy and embrace melancholy, or just shatter them with our smile, is all that comes from within. In simple words, we are sad when we choose to be.
So, here we bring to you several reasons to make today count and celebrate each day. The Today column brings to you the reasons to celebrate each day!
Changes are an inevitable part of life. The main factor of a happy and successful life is correlated to change. Managing changes is an art, we all need to learn to paint the canvas of life. Changes are not bad, but a challenge. A challenge that comes our way to make us hustle harder and emerge stronger. So, let us lookout for challenges coming our way, adapt, improve, and soar high!
“Life is a collection of changes.
So don’t avoid changes. Take
Every change as a challenge.
Some give success and some
Act as a stepping stone to
Success”
We have another reason to celebrate today. A day that requires our attention and immediate awareness. Today is ‘Coast Guard Day’.
As we all know, today is August 4 and it is celebrated as the Coast Guard Day to celebrate the creation of the United States Coast Guard as the Revenue Marin in1790, by the then Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton. On this particular day, the U.S. Congress was led by Hamilton, which permitted the building of a fleet of the first ten Revenue Service cutters, whose authority would be the implementation of the first tax laws that were approved by the U.S. Congress under the U.S. Constitution.
The U.S. Coast Guard experienced the contemporary name when U.S. Congress took measures to sign the law by the then U.S. president, Woodrow Wilson on 28th of January in 1915. They combined the Revenue Cutter Service by the help of U.S. Life-Saving Service and gave the nation with one single maritime service which was devoted to saving lives of people and administering the nation’s naval laws.
We commemorate this day to celebrate the creation of the United States coast guard by the revenue marine. You can contribute to coast guards and help them if they need it. Also, you can help organizations that are devoted to helping such people and their families.
