1922 – Howard Carter discovers the tomb of Tutankhamun
In 1922 Howard Carter, a British archaeologist, founded the tomb of Tutankhamun in East Valley, Egypt. The tombs and chambers found earlier in that area were ransacked by thieves. It was the only tomb intact. On November 4, they dug to find an entrance to the tomb that was the entrance to King Tut’s tomb with 16 steps leading to a sealed doorway. This discovery led to many priceless findings and advancements in the study of ancient Egyptian culture. This discovery also established Howard Carter as a world-famous archaeologist.
1946 – UNESCO established
The United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization is a UN specialized agency. It is an autonomous organization that works with the United Nations, aiming to promote world peace and security. UNESCO works in the field of education, science, and culture with 193 member states and 11 associate member states through international cooperation. They have launched several initiatives worldwide related to education, culture, and science.
1996 Spice Girls release their debut album; Spice
The popular girl band Spice girls released their first debut album Spice on November 4 in 1996. The band members were Melanie C., Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Melanie B., and Emma Bunton. The album set a record by becoming the best-selling album by a female group in history and sold 23 million copies worldwide.
2008 – Barack Obama becomes the first African American President of the USA
Senator Barack Obama of Illinois was elected the first African American president of the United States. He served as the 44th president of the USA. He is a politician and attorney and served his tenure as a president from Jan 2009 to Jan 2017. During his tenure, the reputation of the United States improved significantly internationally.
