Evolution has been one of the biggest discoveries of human beings. How we started on fours. But today we stand on our twos. How we ate leaves and fruit but today we consume whole meals. Moreover, Charles Darwin studied this entire phenomenon. People knew him for his great contribution to this field. Hence, On February 12, we celebrate Darwin’s Day.
History:
Darwin always put forth theories that ran parallel with the living species of planet Earth. He was born in 1809. Furthermore, he grew up to become a man of immense importance. Some early books and literature tell us Darwin was extremely fascinated with fossils. The millions of bone structures that could be found across the world. The diversity found on this singular planet amused him. He loved sitting in his cabin for hours together and studying about the miracle, human being. He believed that all species came from other species. Also, they imbibed their previous values. He even probed into DNA research. Finally, he took the world by surprise.
How to celebrate:
You can enjoy Darwin Day with a lot of activities. Firstly, sit down with your friends and family. And understand what evolution is? How are we, what we are today? You can surf the internet. Or you could look up encyclopedias. Then you can head over to a museum. A Museum of Natural History or a science museum can give you a hands-on learning experience. Moreover, you can also create Darwin inspired art. That can be something related to evolution. Or the steady growth of man.
National Freedom to Marry Day:

Love is love. Be it heterosexual or homosexual. No one has the right to judge someone else’s lifestyle. Well, this day celebrates that. Everyone has the freedom to marry whoever they like. Without any limitations. Without any boundaries. February 12 is about normalizing to marry the same sex. Furthermore, we have come a long way. We have progressed thoroughly. But, we are far away from our destination.
History:
The celebration of this day started back in 1999. Washington D.C took over in establishing this day. Furthermore, the fight for these basic rights was never over. People today are struggling to be with their loved ones. But today we stand by these couples. Bold and strong and give them the strength to marry their partners. 2004 was a triumphant year for LGBTQIA couples. On February 12, San Franciso issued the same-sex marriage license.
How to Celebrate:
This day is special. Many couples choose this day to get married. So, if you have a wedding, coming up! Save this date for your special someone. Moreover, there is very little awareness about this day. We go about spending our days like any other. Well, today talk to your friend and family. Even your neighbors. Have discussions about what this day is about and how we can celebrate it to the fullest.
