United Nations Day
The United Nations came into existence on 24 October 1945. Recognizing 75 years of incredible work in the upliftment of the world, we celebrate today as the anniversary of the UN charter and mark it as The United Nations Day.
In 1971, The General Assembly of The United Nations declared this day as an international holiday. The member states of the United Nations celebrate this day as a public holiday.

On 24 October 1972, UN’s World Development Information Day was also recognized globally. Many institutions celebrate this day by conducting quizzes and other varied events and spreading awareness of why getting information is important for us. the United Nations Postal Administration issued the first UN Stamps in the U.S. Dollar at the headquarters in 1951.
In 1945, after World War II, the United Nations was established to prevent further wars. Later the UN Charter was made and came into effect on October 24. The objectives included protecting rights, spreading peace and security, and promoting sustainable development.

USA Weekend magazine recognized Make a Difference Day in 1992. It was done to support and encourage various organizations and people working towards the betterment of the world. This includes everyone, either a child or an elder. From changing our society to changing the world, everything is a part. A small step by all citizens makes a massive change in all.
