This is the morse code for the letter “S”. Additionally, this code was sent to Marconi from his teammates, in England. Marconi is known for his detailed study of wireless radio transmissions. This was his first breakthrough. Contrary to his belief, a lot of people believed that radio communication was impossible. Lastly, Guglielmo proved them all wrong.
1943: The Czech Republic signs a treaty with the Soviet Union for postwar co-operation.
Today, Czechoslovakia signed a co-operation treaty with the USSR. This agreement was to create an atmosphere of peace in times of war. This incident occurred during World War II. Moreover, both countries agreed upon friendship. They wanted to move forward with mutual collaboration and reduce the immense violence that was spread across the world. This treaty was a way to modify the existing Treaty on Mutual Assistance. Also, this was a huge step towards peace.

1964: Kenya becomes a republic.
For many years, Kenya was under the rule of the British governors. Moreover, these governors owned huge plantation farms. Although, on December 12, 1963, Kenya gained its independence. Exactly one year later under the leadership of Jomo Kenyatta, this country became a republic. It was a joyous day in the history of Kenya. Jomo Kenyatta also went on to become the first president of this liberated country. Now, Kenya is known as the “Republic of Kenya”.
1991: The Russian Federation becomes independent from the USSR.
On December 12, 1991, Russia became an independent country. This event occurred as a result of the dissolution of the Soviet Union. This was a historic moment as Russia was walking on a democratic road. Also, this was just the beginning of the turnover moment for this country. In other words, Russia was heading to become one of the largest countries on the global platform.

1995: Willie Brown becomes the first African American mayor of San Francisco.
San Francisco created history today. Willie Lewis Brown Jr. was the first African American. During this election, Brown was running against Frank Jordan. Willie wanted to make San Francisco a better place. He was a pioneer for the betterment of his state. Brown addressed problems such as poverty. Furthermore, before becoming the mayor, Brown worked with the California State Assembly for 30 years.
