Heavily printed clothes may give out unsuitable vibes if you are going to meet some important people at the event or expecting to have a bigger presence. You must already be aware, but avoid shorts or mini dresses and skirts. Do not add shimmery clothes and glitter. Select a simple and sleek shirt or blouse if you are matching your pantsuit. The same goes for skirts too. You can contrast your shirt with the pantsuit or skirt, but make sure to not include very bright colors either. If you do not feel like going with the everyday flow of black or blue pants and coats, you could try some earthy colors like brown or faded green to keep it formal. Or choose some other colors of your choice, but remember to tone the colors down.

Do not go overboard with the colors and glitter. Keep it elegant. 

Footwear

A popular idea: good shoes take you to good places. Why not turn it the other way round this time? You take your pretty shoes to the pretty event you have been invited to. Bring out the heels that carry that grace with them. But choosing footwear can be trickier than it sounds. Do not give in to the temptation to wear your favorite pair of sneakers to the party. Yes, sneakers do go well with dresses, just not on this occasion. Heels would be the best for either pantsuit or skirt or a dress.

Adding accessories is optional. Do not wear too many, just enough, if you feel like it. From a simple neckpiece that complements your style, a graceful bracelet to a classy watch, add anything you like.
