The world sees a myriad of achievements each day, and millions of people create history. As we track down what anyone has done, the age of the achiever is the least that matters in a world that moves upward and forward with each passing day. Young achievers and entrepreneurs have forged into the mainstream world of competition, and taken over it in the truest sense, that the energy stored in the young souls, comes out as endless, and the brains are on a constant quest to scale the skies. This is an ode to the young people out there.
Through this column, we bring all such achievers who changed the perception of the world, towards youth!
Suhas Gopinath
“I chased Bill Gates into the bathroom.”
World’s one of the youngest CEOs, Suhas Gopinath founded his company Globals Inc., an IT firm at the age of 14. A young boy, hailing from a small city Bangalore, India took the help of a cyber cafe to begin his journey as an inspiration and one of the youngest and successful entrepreneurs of all time. He accepted the coveted CEO title when he was mere 17 years old, not even an adult. Gopinath was announced as ‘Young Global Leader’ by the World Economic Forum in the year 2008-2009.
Presently, Globals is one of the world’s largest analytics companies in the Education and Public Sector. He is currently the founder of HappyEMI as well.
Malala Yousafzai
“With guns, you can kill terrorists, with the education you can kill terrorism.”
Malala is a Nobel Peace Prize laureate and a woman activist. She is the youngest peace prize laureate as of now. A Human Rights activist, especially vocal about the never-ending woman discrimination and a vocal supporter for equal education rights to all. She was declared the most prominent citizen of her home country, Pakistan by former Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
In late 2012, Yousoufzai and two other girls were attacked by a terrorist group reroute to school, as revenge for her activism. They were shot, and Malala was in a critical condition for several days leading up extensive media coverage. After the incident, Malala actively started participating in gathering supper for women and their rights.
A UK citizen at the moment, Malala pioneered a way for many young people to come out and call out the wrongs in society.
Matthew Mullenweg: Founder of the WordPress
“You can build a culture in a different way. I feel like when you’re constantly raising money and constantly going back to the till it’s a little bit more transactional.”
Every blogger, every website creator has at one point used WordPress, and this BragSocial website is also a part of the organization. But, it is rather not surprising to see that WordPress is a result of a young man’s creativity. A freshman at the University of Houston, Mullenweg at the age of 19 found WordPress with his friend. From then on, there is no looking back to this young mind and has founded many brands and startups including Tumblr.
Mullenweg has received innumerable awards titles in his long career and he was featured in the Forbes 30 under 30 lists in the year 2012.
Fraser Doherty: Founder of the Super Jam
“I never imagined my hobby in my parents’ kitchen would grow into a company supplying the biggest supermarket chains in the world.”
Adulteration has been a major problem and there have been regular concerns over consuming packaged food. Although on one hand a lot of young people venture into the technical field and more, little attention is drawn upon to the food industry or the textile industry. Fraser Doherty is the founder of Super Jam and a young man who ventured into the field to change how the industry functions at present. SuperJam is completely authentic, real and does not take the help of any artificial sweetener, but is sweetened by grape juice and berries. Starting at the age of 17, Fraser went around factories to give him a chance but facing rejections each time, until finally, one factory agreed to do so.
Currently, SuperJam is only supplied in and around the United Kingdom, but soon the chain is set to expand to all other continents across the globe. An innovation that went out to become a unique start-up of all times.
Daniel Nevius
“The commercial space industry is one of the fastest growing markets in technology today. Thousands of new commercial satellites are expected to launch in the next couple years. Technology is reaching new heights each day, and upgrades are something that all users are on a lookout for every time. satellites were developed long ago, and all the features that came with it turned out to be slow and could not match the pace of the changing lives each day. Daniel Nevius came to the rescue with his Analytical Space, a laser-based network, that helps in better and faster communications. Actively, working on the ground to make networking faster for all of us.
And, the first test satellite has already been launched. The organization aims to eliminate the lag and to make networking even faster.
Christopher James Paolini
“You flew on the wings of dragons, now soar into a sea of stars. . “
Christopher is waiting for his new book launch in September 2020. His high school project led to the creation of Eragon, the first of his four-book series. Most of Paolini’s books have topped The New York Times, and other bestseller lists. He was recognized as the “youngest author of a bestselling book series” in the year 2011. His next novel, To Sleep in a Sea of Stars, is based on the genre of science fiction. Paolini became the best selling author at the age of 19.
Now, at 36 while reminiscing his past years and how he started, he says he could not believe that what started as just a high school assignment, would change his life completely.
It is the right time for us to invest in our young minds, and validate each idea that comes to us. Youngsters of a community our the assets and let us stay true to our titles.
