A WhatsApp message attributed to Japanese Nobel Prize winner Tasuku Honjo claims that coronavirus is not natural but man-made in China. The same message was spread on Facebook and many other social media platforms. The message doing the rounds on the instant messaging platform quotes Tasuku Honjo to claim that China is lying about its origins. It did not originate from the bats. It is also being claimed that Honjo arrived at this conclusion based on his knowledge, research, and experience of having worked in the Wuhan laboratory for four years.
The truth behind this viral message is that the great Japanese Nobel Laureate Tasuku Honjo made no such claims. Furthermore, he never worked in the Wuhan laboratory.
