We have successfully completed half a year. 2020 is flying by like a shooting star, and here we are at July. It is a long year ahead just like the months that went by. The days that passed have taught us many things and we are going to rock the rest of the months as well. We bring to you the different reasons we should be celebrating each day through this Today column so read on to know why you should.
International Plastic Bag Free Day
Mankind has seen developments in all fields and we have created so many things that conserve our time and make our lives easier. In the long run, the world has seen some record-breaking inventions and plastic belongs to the same man-made inventions. We often forget that somethings actually hurt the world in more than one way, creating problems for nature. Plastics do the same. And, those plastic bags that we always take up at the retail store might help us and we might discard them through the bin, but they do not get discarded completely. They stay on the planet forever.
But, today try to change yourself for the betterment of everyone. Make others along with you do the same. Take your own bags to the retail store and do your shopping. Or else, use the paper bags in the market and if the shop owners do not offer a paper bag, ask them to change. Motivate people in your place to do the same.
Disobedience Day
Everyone is taught to be obedient and abide by rules from a very young age. It becomes mandatory for everyone from a small child to an adult to seek permission and obey a set of rules that are naturally not a product of their own will. But, sometimes people feel that the restrictions set by our elders over us, or even our bosses at the workplace is rather too much and there is no freedom whatsoever. But, there are cheat days for everything. So today is the day for you to unbound yourself and be free in doing whatever you want to.
But, being disobedient does not mean that one goes up and causes harm, breaking legal laws. The day refers to breaking the thresholds set by someone else and going beyond the standards. Be careful that while you entertain yourself, you don’t force others to sacrifice their freedom.
