On April 24, we celebrate a loving day with our pets/veterinarians for their life-saving work. Besides, we celebrate the day by paying attention to the local bookstores and paying them respect and love.
Veterinary Day
Whether you have a dog, a cat, a rabbit, or a horse, there is one thing all animal lovers agree on, and that is the amazing work that veterinarians carry out. April 24 is a day to show love and connection between the pets and the pet owners.
History
Veterinarian Day was originated in 2000. World Veterinary Association created this day to highlight and promote the lifesaving work carried out by veterinarians around the world. Each year on April 24 has a different theme that helps pet owners to remember the importance of various aspects of animal care, and how they can help their pets. For instance, pet owners can help by ensuring their pet’s vaccinations are up to date.

Independent Bookstore Day
While thinking of bookstores, most people think of Barnes and Nobles. However, there are also small local bookstores that never get the attention they deserve, being so iconic in your hometown. Thus, Independent Bookstore Day is invented and is celebrated on April 24 of every year.
History
Samantha and Northern California Independent Booksellers Association carried out the first national Independent Bookstore Day on April 24, 2015. Samantha was a writer, copywriter, and editor. Over 400 stores took part in the event and the holiday aims to have higher sales in the merchandise of these local stores.
How to celebrate this day?
You can support your local bookstores by buying books from there. Help the volunteer for events at the bookstore and inspire others to become book-lovers as well.
