Physical Distancing 101 – Social distancing, also named “physical distancing,” means keeping a protected space between yourself and other people who are not from your family.
Social distancing should be exercised in combination with other everyday preventive activities to decrease the spread of COVID-19, including wearing masks, avoiding touching your face with unwashed hands, and repeatedly washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Avoid going to crowded places. Gatherings are the most infection-prone places because you do not know who are the people around you, what are their hygiene habits, etc. You cannot scan who is healthy and who is infected. So, with the spreading pandemic, stay away from gatherings.
To practice social or physical distancing, stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people who are not from your family in both indoor and outdoor areas.
