Chinese scientists have told that the novel coronavirus will not be eradicated, it would burn out for good but return each year. They have told that there is no going back from this pandemic and the virus, that has taken thousands of lives and hit the economies hard all around the world, would keep revisiting in waves like the flu.
What the researchers say:
A group of Chinese medical research has told that it is unlikely that the novel coronavirus would disappear. It is hard to fully eradicate it as containing the transmission, when the virus is spreading undetected- infected people showing mild or no obvious symptoms (asymptomatic carriers) at such a high rate, it is very hard to eliminate it.
The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases namely Dr. Anthony Fauci told that we may go back to the normal in the sense that we would likely be able to function as a society and move on with our lives but we should be prepared for the resurgence in the coming time. The only difference in the coming years would be having interventions like vaccines and experience to fight the disease in a better way.
Doctors questioning the lockdown orders
Some health experts are suggesting calling for the virus to be allowed to spread among the young people in a controlled manner like in India while Sweden has already opted out of the costly lockdown that brings the economy to a halt.
Dr. Artin Massihi and Dr. Dan Erickson, co-owners of Accelerated Urgent Care in Bakersfield, California joined “The Ingraham Angle” for discussing whether the stay-at-home order is necessary for California where the chance of dying from COVID-19 is 0.03 and Erickson put up questions whether it is worth people being out of work, shutting down medical systems and putting a halt to the economy.
