Thus, this animal cruelty law stops those vehicles every 28 hours to allow animals to exercise, food and water. This law is not for those animals who are being transported in vehicles with access to food or water. If someone breaks this law, then the transporter will be penalized with a penalty of $100 to $500.
The Endangered Species Act
This Animal Cruelty Act legally comes into action in 1973. The Endangered Species Act deals with the protection of fish, mammals, and birds. This law also restricts any kind of action which causes a “taking” of any listed species of extinct fish or wildlife.

The PACT (Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture) Act:
The PACT act was signed into law in 2019. This act is broadly for egregious forms of animal cruelty — specifically crushing, burning, drowning, suffocating, impaling, or sexual exploitation. This law prohibits any person from inflicting, causing, or if it is the owner, permitting, unnecessary pain or suffering to any animal. The Act makes it a crime to beat, kick, torture, mutilate, administer an injurious substance, or cruelly kill an animal. The Animal Crush Video Prohibition Act of 2010 banned the creation and sharing of the “crush videos” — where people torture, crush and kill small animals.
Ways to Prevent Animal Cruelty
- Become a responsible owner to care for the pet. Be aware of the needs of your pet and give your pet a positive experience that results in its well-being.
