1686: Municipality of Ilagan founded

Ilagan is the capital of the province of Isabela, Philippines, and a first-class component city as well. It was founded on May 4, 1686, with a density of 120/km square. It is the largest city on Luzon island and the fourth largest city in the Philippines. The natives were then transformed into Christianity.

1883: The first edition of Vicksburg Evening Post published

On May 4, 1883, John Gordon Cashman published the first edition of the ‘Vicksburg Evening Post’. He named it this name to dist8inguish it from the daily morning newspapers he used to publish at that time.

1922: KNX-AM in Los Angeles starts radio transmissions

In the city of Los Angeles, California, KNX(1070 AM) got its first formal broadcasting license in 1921. On May 4, 1922, the Electric Lightning Supply Company issued a broadcasting license. Although, it was the second station after the KGC.

1967: The US launches Lunar Orbiter 4

Lunar Orbiter 4 was the robotic U.S. spacecraft, to orbit the moon. It was launched on May 4, 1967, manufactured by Langley Research Centre. Besides, the mission continued for 180 days with 360 orbits, decaying on October 6, 1967.

1989: STS-30 launched

STS-30 was the fourth shuttle, operated by NASA, for Space Shuttle Atlantis on May 4, 1989. It traveled a distance of 2,377,800 kilometers, thus completed 65 orbits in 4 days, 56 minutes, 28 seconds. It landed on May 8, 1989, with Edwards Runway 22. However, this sums up the history of May 4.
