1933- Germany appointed Adolf Hitler as its chancellor
The Nazi party won a series of electoral victories and Adolf Hitler became the chancellor of Germany. He ruled for a long time until his death in 1945. The Nazi party received a lot of support from the influential class of German officers. Moreover, being a skilled orator and authority figure, Hitler had addressed the Germans about the new German political order. However, the purpose of this was to replace the previous system that he considered to be inefficient.
1960- African National Party formed in Chad
The African National Party has formed through the coalition the remnants of four different political parties in northern Chad. The African National Party, also known as PNA initially won 25 seats in the National Assembly. Later, PNA had formed another coalition with the Chadian Progressive Party. It resulted in the formation of the “Union of the Progress of Chad (UPT)”
1992- Inventor Ray Kurtzweil published his first book “The Age of Intelligent Machines”
“The Age of Intelligent Machines” introduced the concept of artificial intelligence. The American Association of American Publishers termed it as the “Most Outstanding Computer Science Book”. Moreover, this book was the first of its kind to explore artificial intelligence. The author Ray Kurtzweil explained that differently-abled people will get assistance through advancement in this field. He also mentioned that these transformations will challenge human intelligence later on.
2003- Belgium passed legislation for same-sex marriages
One of the major signs of progress in society was the acceptance of the LGBTQ community and their rights. Therefore, January 30, 2003 is a hallmark in the history of Belgium as the bill for same-sex marriage was passed in the Chamber of Representatives. It became the second country in the world to grant this right. Presently, Belgium has the status of being one the most progressive and modern countries in the entire world.
2013- South Korea launched a Space Rocket
Another major development in the field of astronomy was South Korea’s successful attempt to launch a space rocket. The “Korean Space Launch Vehicle- 1” went up to space from South Korea’s Naro Space Center. However, the previous two attempts had failed. This was the third attempt and this spiked the country’s space programs.
