Here’s Where You Are Most At-Risk When Unvaccinated

As covid-19 variants spread across the globe, people need to take necessary precautions. When a non-vaccinated individual is exposed to a strain of coronavirus or its variants, their immunological system produces antibodies against it. However, the production and release of such chemicals take a substantial amount of time. By then, the virus may have multiplied and caused a lot of damage to the respiratory tract. That is why unvaccinated people need to follow all the necessary precautions. Let’s take a look at the places which are risky for unvaccinated individuals.

Places To Avoid For Unvaccinated Individuals

1. Entertainment Sources and Worshiping Places

Everyone loves to take a break from everyday hustles. And entertainment is a great way that brings happiness and comfort. Similarly, visiting churches and other worshiping places is a source of solace and strength. However, it is risky for an unvaccinated person to visit concert halls, movie theaters, and churches.

So, the best way to avoid the transmission of infection is to refrain from outdoor activities unless they are extremely important. A drive-in movie or a virtual concert serve as excellent alternatives to movie theaters and concert halls. If you are unvaccinated and willing to attend a gathering, then research the following things.

  • The number of people attending that gathering.
  • The duration of the gathering.
  • Implementation of social distancing norms and covid related precautions.

2. Clubs, Bars, and Restaurants

Enjoying your weekend in a bar or a restaurant with friends and family is a perfect place to be. But, coronavirus has changed our way of entertainment, enjoyment, and fun. Certain restaurants and gathering places ask for proof of vaccinations if a person wishes to dine inside. Bars, clubs, and restaurants are poorly ventilated places. People congregate, eat, drink, and speak with one another in close proximity. Moreover, the use of masks is not strictly followed in such places. So an unvaccinated person is at a greater risk of developing a covid infection in such crowded places. A takeaway or a home delivery of your favorite food serves as the best alternative to going out. In addition, one can also dine-in at restaurants following strict covid-19 guidelines with tables spaced at least 6 feet apart.

3. Traveling in Public Transportation

Public transportation is a major means through which coronavirus spreads. One cannot be sure about the hygiene of public vehicles such as trains and buses. Using personal vehicles or private cabs serves as a better alternative to public transportation. Infection can spread through chairs, rails, or window panes of such vehicles. If you are using a cab or taxi, make sure you sanitize the sitting space and cover your face throughout. While traveling through the air, an individual should be careful while passing through security lines and terminals. Flying with fewer stops and short road trips are comparably safer.

Who Is Not Eligible For Covid-19 Vaccine Shots?

High fever, nasal congestion, severe headache, loss of smell, loss of taste, and dry cough are some of the common symptoms of coronavirus infection. Vaccinations serve as the strongest weapon to fight the severity of coronavirus infection. They are an effective and efficient tool to prevent hospitalization and covid-related deaths. However, certain groups of people can not eligible for covid-19 vaccine shots. These include-

  • Children under 18 years of age (Pfizer’s covid-19 vaccine is authorized for children aged 12-16 in the United States and Canada)
  • People with severe allergies to any component of the covid-19 vaccine or injectable medication
  • Individuals with severe medical problems such as diabetes, hypertension, or kidney disease
  • Individuals who were recently diagnosed covid positive
  • Pregnant or lactating woman

Addressing the Vaccination Stigmas

Vaccinations work on the principle of memory and retention. The doses of covid vaccines contain an mRNA that helps the immunological system of an individual manufacture protein. Such spike proteins help in fighting against coronavirus by producing antibodies. It is crucial to address the stigmas around vaccinations with proper information and data. Vaccine doses do not cause DNA alteration or contain the virus particles. Separating myths from facts is essential to motivate people for taking their Vaccination shots. The communicative spots through which the virus travels inside the body are the eyes, nose, lips, and mouth. So, an individual should cover these areas at all times while traveling in crowded places. Lastly, covering your face using masks, following social restrictions, taking vaccines (when eligible), and maintaining personal hygiene is essential to control the spread of coronavirus infection.

[…] Meanwhile, Canada became the first country to authorize the use of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine for children. They have authorized for the children between the ages of 12 and 15. The main aim is to reduce the spread of the virus and protect vulnerable children from any risk. However, Pfizer also mentions that the initial results from the trials of its vaccine in this age group have had 100% results of efficacy and strong immune response. Similarly, the US Food and Drug Administration also has been reviewing whether they can authorize the vaccine for younger people. Also read: Here’s Where You Are Most At Risk When Unvaccinated. […]
