1618 Russia & Poland signs peace treaty of Deulino
The peace treaty signed between Russia and Poland is also known as Truce of Deulino. The signing of this truce treaty, on December 11, 1618, ended the Polish–Muscovite War (1605-1618). However, this agreement between the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth and the Tsardom of Russia made a history. As this truce treaty made a tremendous geographical expansion of the Commonwealth. This lasted till 1629, until the Commonwealth conceded the loss of Livonia.

1730 Voltaire’s “Brutus” premieres in Paris
A French writer and philosopher François-Marie Arouet, was famously known as his pen name, Voltaire. However, he had written Over two thousand books and twenty thousand letters in his lifetime. Also one of his famous work Brutus, which he began working in 1727 and completed in 1729. The tragic play of Brutus by Voltaire has five acts in it. It premiered at the Comédie-Française theatre in Paris, on December 11, 1730. Over the time period of1730 to 1799, the play had performed one hundred and ten times.
1665 “Messiah” Sjabtai Tswi festival in Smyrna
Sabbatai Zevi was born on August 1, 1626, in the Ottoman city of Smyrna. During the war between Turkey and Venice, Smyrna became the center for trading. Therefore, his family became agents for Englishmen and earned quite a wealth. Sabbatai means Saturn in Hebrew. So “the reign of Saturn”, the highest planet, in Jewish tradition marks the arrival of Messiah. Sabbatai became a self proclaimed Messiah but failed to make his impression of the locals. During his arrest in Constantinople, he held a court as a messiah. Therefore, from there onwards, he replaced the fast of Tisha B’Av with the festival of Sjabtai Tswi on the account of his birthday.
1719 First recorded display of Aurora Borealis in North America
A natural occurring phenomenon that can be found in both northern and southern hemisphere, known as Polar lights or Aurora borealis. However, the New England does not see much of it. But then on December 11, 1719, it appeared unexpectedly in the month of December, the citizens became amazed as well as alarmed. However, this process begins on the surface of the Sun. When sun ejects a cloud f gas and it enters the magnetic field of Earth. Therefore, when the clouds collide with the oxygen and nitrogen present in the Earth’s atmosphere, it produces mesmerizing auroral lights.
1971 The libertarian party of the united states formed
The Libertarian Party of the US formed in December 11, 1971, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The party embraces individual responsibility, opposes government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, and defend civil liberties. It also supports same-sex marriage, ending capital punishment and supports gun ownership rights. It has become the third largest political party in the US currently. In June 1972, the first Libertarian National Convention was held.
2014 World’s first penis transplant
In Cape town, a team of Doctors from Stellenbosch University and Tygerberg Hospital, performed the world’s first ever penis transplant. Performed on a twenty one year old boy, who just had one centimeter of his penis left after a botched circumcision. The operation took place on December 11, 2014. The patient had a speedy recovery. But it will take almost two years to have complete sensations back. Therefore, the patient could easily pass urine, has an erection and feel orgasm after few months.
