Every day has a special significance to it. Some days are reserved to celebrate the important people in our lives. Whereas some days we celebrate the cultural and religious diversity of the world. Just like this on January 23, every year, we celebrate Handwriting Day as well as Visit Your Local Quilt Shop Day. Here, at Bragsocial, we have brought you a little insight in on both of these days. From their significance to how to celebrate these days. Let us read further about them.
Handwriting Day
Have you people ever wondered if you have a good handwriting? Have you looked at your family member’s handwriting with envy? Practicing handwriting has become important now more than ever. Especially in a world where it is hardly used as a form of communication. With computer and digital keyboards as the new writing method, we often forget the traditional good old paper and pen method. This day is to encourage you to show off your handwriting skills and appreciate the art of handwriting.
History
Celebrations of Handwriting Day started in the year 1977. When a group of educators began to feel that the art of handwriting was getting lost as a skill. The Writing Instrument Manufacturers Association (WIMA) decided to do something about it. Therefore, that is how Handwriting Day came in existence. While not everyone shows their interest in celebrating this day, it is now taking more prominence and more people than ever are taking part in celebrating this day. Therefore, we celebrate this day on January 23 every year.
How to celebrate
There are numerous things that you can do to celebrate Handwriting Day. One of the first and basic things is to think about all of the important documents in the world that are handwritten. For example, you can think of the poems, the Bill of Rights, constitution of any country, and so many more.
Beside this you can also look at other people’s handwriting on this day. Handwriting is as unique as a fingerprint of a person, so you can look at some samples of the handwriting of the people you know and try to observe the art of handwriting. You can also take a look at your own handwriting. Some people think that theirs is too sloppy or too messy and underestimates theirs so you could take time to work on improving your handwriting.
