Roy Marshall on Intoxicants in Cleaning Products You Need to Be Aware Of

Imagine, that the products you use on regular basis in order to clean your house to keep it germs free and safe for your children may cause you and your family harmful effects keeping your life at stake. Wondering How? This can a possibility because there is ‘n’ number of products used for cleaning purposes and as disinfectants available in the market that is very dangerous for humans. Some of the chemicals they consist of are not recommended for use by the experts.

The companies just try to make their products attractive and strong but do not care about the various severe side effects they may have on their customers. The chemical composition of such products can cause major damage to different parts of the human body especially the eyes, nose, etc. Also, we should not allow children to touch those products. If not handled properly, then one may face its harmful effects.

Intoxicants basically refer to alcohol or any drugs that can cause any type of damage to human life. You should handle products containing such intoxicants with utmost care.

Some of the intoxicants include:

  1. Glue/adhesives
  2. Aerosols
  3. Nail polish remover
  4. Anti-freeze
  5. Thinners
  6. Domestic cleaning fluids
  7. Dry cleaning fluids
  8. Office correction fluids and thinners
  9. Bleaches and acids
  10. Paint stripper, etc

Apart from this, there are also many chemical compositions that are toxic such as

  1. Ammonia
  2. Nonoxynols
  3. Methyl chloride and more.

While these components have been studied and considered safe to the public when used correctly, long-term contact with these products, especially when used incorrectly, can have lasting side effects. What is even more alarming is that the cleaning product companies do not have to disclose the constituents in their products on their packaging.

Some of the side effects on human health are:

  1. Breathing problems
  2. Eyes irritation
  3. Rashes on skin
  4. Nausea
  5. Vomiting, etc.

Apart from humans, such toxic substances even damage the metal and other surfaces of the house by corrosion.

The sale of many such products is banned and many are demanded to be banned by the public for the interest of the public. The cases of misuse of such products for personal benefits have increased in recent years. Also, it is an offense to sell many of these intoxicating substances to anyone below the age of 18 years.

So, it is the responsibility of the seller before selling such products as well as the buyer before buying such products to look at the chemical compositions of the products and also the warnings that are mentioned on the products. Further, it is the responsibility of the parents to keep the products out of reach of the children and also tell them about the harmful effects of the products.

CONCLUSION:

With this, we get to know the harmful effects that a cleaning product can have on us that we use on a daily basis. With that said we as customers need to be more conscious while buying products.
