Today let us be grateful for the life we live despite of the troubles and struggles we face. Be more sensitive and considerate towards others without knowing them. Continue to spread kindness, gratitude and love with positive words and actions. On this day when we celebrate World Alzheimer’s Day along with International Day of Peace let us also be empathetic to the people around us and give all the love and support they need.
World Alzheimer’s Day
This day is a part of the Alzheimer’s month that is September and is dedicated to raising awareness about illnesses like Dementia and Alzheimer’s. A broad category of brain diseases that cause a long-term and gradual decrease in the ability to think and remember is called Dementia. The memory loss is so evident that the person cannot carry out daily routine tasks properly. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common type of dementia that affects memory, thinking, and behavior.
According to Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) every three seconds, someone in the world develops dementia/Alzheimer’s. Medical science is still working on finding a cure for this and therefore many organizations come together on this day to create awareness about dementia and Alzheimer’s. This helps to educate people about the effects of Alzheimer’s/dementia and what people can do about it. Dementia is more common in old age and thus needs assistance at all times. Millions of people along with their families go through the effects of the disease and can be heartbreaking especially for the family. The struggles and challenges of the family are more immense than the ones with dementia. There are times when the patient will not even recognize his or her family or friends and can be emotionally reckoning to the family members and friends. People with dementia need extra care and assistance, let us all do our bit through our efforts towards fighting it.
International Day of Peace
Peace is not just limited to not waging war but moreover living with harmony. Conflicts, disagreements, and disappointments are very common in life because we are conditioned differently. Everyone has a different perspective towards different things in life and this might result in conflicts. However, people lose their cool and spread hate among one another based on mere disputes. With the rising crime rates, what the people in the world need today is peace in relationships, life, and within themselves.
UN celebrates this day today as UN International Day of Peace to create awareness about gratitude and empathy. Promoting social work to help one another to create a better society for living and overthrow social stigmas. This day focuses on bridging the gaps of discrimination and eradicating jealousy, hatred, or any malicious intent among us. To create a society that consists of people who are kind humble, happy, and content with peace within and in the environment.
Let us be more humble and sensitive towards one another even without knowing them because you never know what struggles someone is going through.
