INTERNATIONAL PANCAKE DAY:

International Pancake Day is on February 16, 2021, to test one’s cooking skills and enjoy pancakes. Most English-speaking countries like UK, Australia, Canada, and others celebrate this day. 

HISTORY:

International Pancake Day is also known as Shrove Tuesday. It is the day before Ash Wednesday. Historically, it is observed on Tuesday in February or March. Before the beginning of Lent. The term refers to a period of forty days before Easter. Hence, it is the period of fasting. According to the tradition, individuals do not eat eggs, butter, and other rich food items. So, they observe International Pancake Day where they enjoy the meal of pancakes. On this day, they make pancakes with all the ingredients that they will have to abstain from later on. 

HOW TO CELEBRATE? 

Individuals around the world can cook and enjoy having a wholesome meal of pancakes. Another major tradition to celebrate this day is the pancake race. This takes place in the UK. People take part in the race with a pancake and a pan. They flip pancake in the air and catch it with the pan. In some places, they wear fancy costumes too.
