What happened in the past plays a crucial role in our today. What we do today again plays an important role in the future. Every step we take is calculated carefully. Similarly, our ancestors did the same too. On November 20 quite a lot of our ancestors had major roles regarding peacekeeping, inventions, and more. Some of them are as follows.

1789 – Bill of Rights ratified

Among the first ten amendments made in the New Jersey Constitution is the ratification of the Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights gave citizens their civil rights. Rights such as freedom of religion, press, and speech, and the like have been given. As citizens, we have been entitled to our rights by birth. While battles of the past prolonged, meanwhile our rights were on hold. New Jersey ratifies the rights as early as possible to give the citizens what they already have, yet did not experience it in full.

1815 – The Quadruple Alliance and Treaty of France

The Treaty of France is a very significant event during World War I.  This treaty helped end WWI.  The Quadruple Alliance formed on this day. Russia, Prussia, England, and Austria formed the quadruple alliance. This treaty is the result of the Battle of Waterloo. The reason for the alliance is to bring stability to Europe’s federal system. The death of Napolean Bonaparte made this alliance the perfect peace treaty. November 20, 1815, marked an important date for millions of soldiers and their families. 

1962 – Kennedy bars discrimination in federally funded housing.

For President John F. Kennedy, some acts are his major moves during his reign. For instance, The civil rights act. He ordered all federally funded housing to stop discrimination against race, color, religion, and gender. He believed that discriminating against someone is going against their right to life and liberty. Their pursuit of happiness got hampered too. He also ordered rental homes to stop price discrimination. And allow all the people to rent homes at the market rat and not increased rate.

1985 – Microsoft Windows 1.0 launch

Microsoft began working on Graphical User Interface (GUI) in 1981. By November, they released the first user-friendly personal computer, Windows 1.0. The first of the windows line. Although Windows has its updated software and hardware, however, it faced a lot of criticism. The emphasized usage of the mouse was not well received. It had numerous performance problems as well. After all this criticism, consequently, Windows 1.0 stopped its production. After that, major software and hardware updates were made in 1.3 and 1.5.

1989 – UNCRC Adopted

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children(UNCRC) is adopted on November 20, 1989. As the name suggests, the committee is formed in the interest of children. The main aim is to protect children from abuse, exploitation, and have their privacy protected. It is also a platform where children can voice their views and opinions. What they want and what they need. In addition, it is a platform where children can receive legal support. 

1998 – Zarya launched

Zarya is the first launch of the International Space Station. It is a Russian model. Built and Launched from Russia. the other name is the Functional Cargo Block or FGB. The name “Zarya”, meaning dawn, signifies the beginning of an era. It has a life span of 15 years. It is equipped with a storage facility, fuel tanks, and Solar Array Panels. Making travel and connectivity easier back on earth.
