1914- Halt in production of newspapers
Belgium was one of the first countries in Europe get the right to freedom of the press. It was the most liberal state at that time. From 1830 till 1914, most of the newspapers were in French and Dutch. In 1914, censorship of press ceased the production of dailies in Belgium came to a halt. All the editorial boards were deserted as the crucial press firms had stopped their production. Eventually, they returned and started production. However, it was not for the country. They were getting published abroad like London, Paris, Amsterdam, and Rotterdam.
1903- Formation of Ubang-Shari
French people have colonized four territories in Central Africa namely Ubang-Shari, Chad, Middle Congo, and Gabon. French entered the area in 1889. They had just started the colonization. At that time, Upper Ubangi was under the French Congo in the early years. It became a separate colony on July 13, 1894. But in December 1899, it was again back into French Congo. The French colonized region of Upper Shari. It became a part of French Congo on September 5, 1900. During the same year, the Company of Upper Unangi Sulantes had annexed an area of about 1,40,000 km of Upper Unbangi. On December 29, 1903, the two territories were combined as one. The name comes from the region Ubangi and the river Chari along which it was colonized.
1937- Ireland adopts the constitution.
Irish Free State consisted of the Irish Republic and Southern Ireland. Ireland name was introduce in 1937. Moreover, Ireland adopted its new constitution on December 29, 1937. ‘Constitution of Ireland’ replace ‘Constitution of Irish Free State’ with a vote of 56.5%. Da Valera, the then President of the Executive Council wanted to put an Irish stamp on the constitution. Also, on the institutions of Ireland. He wanted to eliminate the association of the country with the Anglo-Irish treaty. Thus, he wanted to make these new introductions symbolic of the same. He also laid emphasis on the use of the Irish language in the constitution.
After the 1911 Xinhaj Revolution, Sun Yat-sen was the first president of the Republic of China. He was one of the most renowned leaders of China. He played a significant role in the overthrowing the Quin Dynasty during the revolution. His tenure was full of struggles as had to go to exile very frequently. He was a Chinese politician, physician, and philosopher, also called ‘Father of the Nation’.
After the fall of the Quin Dynasty in 1921, Mongolia declared independence from the Republic of China. Quin Dynasty consisted of Mongolia, Tibet, Min, and Uigur. Conlonization of Mangolia occured two times. During the year 1911, the Mangolia overthrew Manchurian Qing Dynasty . However, Quin Dynasty colonised mangolia after eight years. It was finally under Khan’s leadership that Mongolia gained independence.
